About Eric R.

Eric R. Carson studied communication and business at Brigham Young University–Idaho, earning a Bachelor of Science in 2008. He went on to law school at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2013. Those years framed a transition from business-centered undergraduate studies to legal training in Nevada.

After law school, Carson entered practice and became licensed to practice in both Nevada and Utah. He learned local courthouse procedures and the expectations of state courts in two neighboring jurisdictions. That dual admission has shaped how he approaches matters that cross state lines and how he advises clients about differing rules and timelines.

Carson’s work has spanned litigation and transactional matters, often requiring attention to procedural detail and client communication. He has handled filings, negotiated agreements, and represented clients in various settings. Colleagues describe him as methodical and direct in court filings and in client meetings. He has relied on his undergraduate background in communication to explain complex issues in plain terms.

At Fisher & Hunter, Carson is part of a team that handles a range of legal matters for clients in Nevada and Utah. He contributes to case preparation, oral advocacy, and document drafting. Within the firm he has taken on both courtroom responsibilities and behind-the-scenes legal research and strategy. His practice benefits from familiarity with regional courts and local practice norms.

Carson teaches younger lawyers the practical parts of casework he learned early in his career. That includes preparing witnesses, organizing exhibits, and keeping deadlines in multi-jurisdictional matters. He also spends time coordinating with opposing counsel and with clients to set realistic expectations about outcomes and timing.

Outside of court papers and client calls, Carson values clear, efficient written work. He prefers concise briefs and organized discovery responses that help judges and opposing counsel understand the central issues quickly. Those habits guide how he staffs matters and allocates time on complex files.

He maintains active licenses in Nevada and Utah and practices from the Fisher & Hunter office, where he represents clients in matters across both states. His current practice focuses on serving clients with legal matters that require handling in Nevada and Utah.
