Eric John Medel is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2000. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Medel is the founding principal of Medel Law Group, APC, a law firm located at 2030 Main Street, Suite 1300, Irvine, California 92614. He has been practicing law for over 25 years, serving clients throughout Southern California, including Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego County.
Mr. Medel earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2000. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1997. During his time at the University of San Diego, he gained practical experience through internships at prominent San Diego law firms, focusing on zoning and permitting issues, criminal matters, and civil litigation. Additionally, he interned at Alliance for HOPE International, an organization dedicated to advocating for the rights of victims of domestic violence.
Mr. Medel concentrates his practice in the areas of business litigation, real estate litigation, health law, and employment law. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving breach of contract, fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, antitrust violations, unfair competition, unfair business practices, covenants not to compete, trade secret violations, health law disputes, partnership and shareholder disputes, real estate, title and construction disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, employment disputes, and personal injury claims. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including pre-lawsuit analysis and negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, court trials, jury trials, civil appeals, and writs.
Throughout his career, Mr. Medel has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Orange, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at Pistone & Wolder, LLP from 2000 to 2011.
Mr. Medel is an active member of the State Bar of California, the Orange County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He holds membership in the Business Law Section, Litigation Section, and Antitrust & Unfair Competition Section of the State Bar of California. He is also a member of the Business Litigation Section and Business & Corporate Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association. Mr. Medel is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Southern California effectively.
