About Eric
Eric Eberwine built a measured path into the law. He holds a J.D. from New York Law School (2003) and a B.A. in History and German from Capital University (1993). Those academic years set the framework for a practice that would span state and federal courts in the Midwest.
After law school, Eberwine secured admissions to the bars in Indiana and Kentucky in 2004, and he is also admitted to practice before the Seventh Circuit. Early in his career he joined Waters, Tyler, Hofmann & Scott, LLC, where he worked beginning in 2010. That period solidified his courtroom experience and professional ties within Indiana’s legal community. He became active in the Sherman Minton Inns of Court in 2010, an association that reflects sustained engagement with trial and appellate advocacy peers.
Career moves followed with an eye toward regional practice. In 2023 he took a position with Stein Whatley Lawyers, PLLC. Along the way he maintained memberships in both the Indiana and Kentucky state bars, and in 2023 he joined the Kentucky Justice Association. Those memberships map to a practice that crosses state lines and engages with local bar organizations.
Colleagues describe him as deliberate and practical in litigation settings. He has handled matters that required coordination across jurisdictions, given his admissions in Indiana, Kentucky and the Seventh Circuit. Participation in the Sherman Minton Inns of Court has kept him connected to courtroom procedure and legal writing traditions. He also takes part in bar activities that address standards and professional development for lawyers in the states where he is admitted.
Eberwine’s resume combines private firm experience with ongoing involvement in bar and professional groups. He has worked in established regional firms and now contributes to the caseload at Stein Whatley Lawyers. His movement between firms mirrors a career spent within the same geographic corridor, where relationships and familiarity with local practice rules matter.
He remains an active member of the Indiana and Kentucky bars and continues to engage with the legal community through the Sherman Minton Inns of Court and the Kentucky Justice Association. He currently practices at Stein Whatley Lawyers, PLLC, handling legal matters in Indiana and Kentucky and appearing where necessary before the Seventh Circuit.
