About Eric

Eric Blatti began his legal training at Lewis University, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2004. He went on to earn a J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2006. The combination of undergraduate study in government and a law degree set the groundwork for a practice centered on courtroom work and public service.

Early in his career he joined the Will County Public Defender’s Office as an assistant public defender in 2007. There he handled a steady docket of criminal matters. The work required quick legal research, frequent court appearances and steady client contact. He represented clients at preliminary hearings, plea negotiations and trials, gaining practical experience in Illinois criminal procedure.

Those first years in public defense shaped how he approaches cases. He learned to assess evidence under time pressure and to prioritize the immediate needs of clients facing criminal charges. Colleagues and opposing counsel from that period remember a lawyer who prepared thoroughly and stood ready in court. The routine of motion practice and courtroom advocacy became a core part of his skill set.

After his public defender stint he moved into private practice and later established his own firm. He maintains membership in the Will County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. These affiliations keep him connected to local judges and fellow lawyers and provide access to continuing legal education. He has continued to work primarily on matters arising under Illinois law.

Today he heads the Law Office of Eric J. Blatti. The office handles criminal defense cases and related legal matters for clients in Illinois. He balances court appearances with client meetings and case preparation. He approaches each file by reviewing the evidence, exploring procedural options and considering possible resolutions at various stages of a case.

Colleagues describe his practice as steady and practical. He prefers clear legal arguments over rhetoric and prioritizes outcomes that address a client’s immediate legal exposure. As of 2026 he operates the Law Office of Eric J. Blatti and manages criminal defense matters and related issues in Illinois.
