About Eric
Eric Bacaj built his legal foundation at Denison University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2007. He went on to the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America and received his J.D. in 2010. Those years shaped his early approach to litigation and appellate work, and they set the stage for a practice that spans multiple jurisdictions.
After law school, Bacaj entered private practice and later joined Silverman Thompson as a lawyer. His professional record shows admissions across a range of state and federal courts. He is admitted in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, West Virginia and New York. He also holds admission to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and several federal district courts, including the District of Columbia and both Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia.
His courtroom appearances and filings reflect that breadth of admission. That has allowed him to represent clients in state courts and in federal forums. Colleagues note that juggling matters in multiple districts and circuits requires attention to differing local rules and schedules. Bacaj’s practice has adapted to those demands through careful case management and steady procedural work.
Bacaj maintains memberships in multiple bar organizations. He is a current member of the State Bar of New York, the Virginia State Bar, the State Bar of West Virginia and the District of Columbia Bar. He also belongs to the Federal Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County. Those affiliations give him access to regional professional networks and continuing legal education across jurisdictions.
Within his firm setting, Bacaj handles litigation tasks that arise from the firm’s broader docket. He works on pleadings, motions, and oral argument preparation. He routinely engages with federal practice questions and state law issues as they appear in litigation. His role involves coordinating with clients, opposing counsel and court clerks to advance cases through the procedural stages.
He currently practices at Silverman Thompson, where his work centers on litigation in state and federal courts.
