About Eric Andrew

Eric Andrew Coffelt built a legal path that traces clearly back to study and courtroom training. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Mercer University in 2006. He then went on to Georgia State University College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2010. At Georgia State he studied criminal litigation, trial advocacy and forensic evidence, areas that would shape his work as a defense lawyer.

Coffelt practices in Georgia and brings the techniques he learned in law school to everyday cases. His training in trial advocacy is evident in how he prepares for hearings and trials. He pays attention to forensic issues, both their technical aspects and how they may influence jury perception. That combination informs the way he evaluates evidence and litigates contested matters.

His membership in the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, which he joined in 2013, connects him to colleagues across the state. The association provides a forum for trial practice discussion and continuing legal education. Coffelt’s participation there signals regular engagement with developments in criminal defense practice and trial procedure.

Coffelt is part of Hillis, Robison & Coffelt. At the firm he handles criminal defense matters that require courtroom experience and careful evidence review. He works on cases that move through pretrial litigation, hearings and trials. He has handled motions that turn on forensic analysis and cross-examination, and he approaches those assignments by testing assumptions and the basis for expert testimony.

Clients, opposing counsel and judges see him as someone who attends to detail and to procedure. He prepares witness examinations, drafts motions, and argues evidentiary points that can determine how a case unfolds. His work often requires translating technical forensic material into questions a jury can understand. He balances technical preparation with practical choices about trial timing and strategy.

Outside of litigation, Coffelt keeps current through professional groups and the materials they circulate. He practices in Georgia and is involved in state-level criminal defense conversations about evidence and trial technique. He currently practices criminal defense at Hillis, Robison & Coffelt, concentrating on trial work and forensic evidence issues.
