About Emrah
Emrah Polat took a nontraditional route into law. He began his academic life studying psychology at The College of New Jersey, earning a B.A. He then continued to Fordham University School of Law and received his J.D. in 2018.
After law school, he moved into practice in the Midwest. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and maintains memberships in the New Jersey State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Those memberships reflect ties to both the region where he studied and the national legal community.
Colleagues describe him as methodical. His background in psychology factors into how he assesses disputes and prepares clients for the legal process. He pays attention to factual detail and to how people communicate under pressure. That emphasis often shapes the way he builds a case and works through negotiations.
His professional path led him to private practice. He is based at Polat Law LLC, where he handles a range of client matters. He manages casework, client intake, document preparation and court filings, drawing on the training he received at Fordham and the practical demands of running matters in a small firm environment. He has worked on matters that require steady case management and clear client communication.
Polat participates in bar association activities and keeps up with continuing legal education. He has maintained active memberships in bar organizations since leaving law school, which helps him stay current on rule changes and practice developments. Those contacts also provide a forum for exchanging practical advice with other lawyers.
Outside of the office he has continued an interest in how people make decisions, a perspective rooted in his undergraduate studies in psychology. That perspective informs his client interviews and his preparation for hearings or mediations. He prepares witnesses and clients to give concise testimony and to understand the litigation timeline.
He practices at Polat Law LLC, handling client matters in Wisconsin.
