About Elizabeth J.
Elizabeth J. Ayala took a measured path into the law. She earned a B.A. in psychology from St. Edward's University in 2013, then moved on to the University of Texas at Austin where she received her J.D. in 2016. Those years of study set the foundation for a career that shifted quickly from research and support roles into courtroom and client work.
Her first legal positions were as a law clerk. In 2014 she worked at Walters Gilbreath, then returned to clerking in 2016 at McCullar Gilbreath. Those early roles involved research, drafting and preparing court filings. They also gave her exposure to the practical demands of client representation and case management.
After law school she joined Evans Family Law Group as an attorney in 2016. The move marked a transition from behind-the-scenes work to direct client advocacy. At Evans she handled typical family law matters, appearing in hearings and negotiating settlements. The office listing associates her with Evans Family Law Group during that period.
She continued to broaden her experience over the next several years. In 2020 she was with Bollier Ciccone LLP, where she took on a caseload that included contested proceedings and collaborative resolutions. In 2024 she joined Coldwell Bowes, LLP as a lawyer, adding another chapter to a steady progression through private practice firms. Across those roles she balanced litigation tasks with client counseling and case strategy.
Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in the courtroom and straightforward with clients. Her background in psychology informs her approach to sensitive family matters. She brings that perspective to negotiations as well as to contested hearings, where understanding client priorities and courtroom dynamics matters.
The arc of her career shows a steady climb from clerkships to front-line practice. She has moved through small and mid-sized firms and accumulated hands-on experience in family law disputes along the way. She remains active in Texas, representing clients in family law matters and related proceedings at her current firm.
She currently practices at Coldwell Bowes, LLP, representing clients in family law matters.
