About Elisha
Elisha Hawk began her academic journey in the liberal arts and gradually turned toward law. She received a B.A. from Hood College in 1996, later earned an M.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 2003, and completed her J.D. at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2008. Her educational path combined broad undergraduate study, graduate-level research, and professional legal training.
Her career started immediately after law school. In 2008 she joined Whitney & Bogris, LLP. A year later she moved to Janet, Jenner & Suggs, LLC. She spent 2014 at The Yost Legal Group and then joined Dugan, Babij, Tolley & Kohler, LLC in 2016. In 2019 she became a partner at Brown & Barron, LLC. Most recently, she took a partner role at Jenner Law Trial Lawyers in 2023. The progression shows steady movement into roles with greater responsibility and trial practice settings.
Hawk is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Minnesota. She holds membership in the Maryland Court of Appeals since 2008 and has been a member of the District of Columbia Bar since 2010. Those admissions underpin the regional scope of her work and allow her to appear in a variety of state and federal venues.
Professional association work has been a notable part of her activity outside the courtroom. She has served as Past President of the Maryland Association for Justice and also led the Maryland Association for Justice Foundation as Past President. She chaired the Maryland Association for Justice Nursing Home Litigation Group. These leadership posts indicate sustained involvement in the plaintiff-side bar and in efforts to shape litigation practice and education in Maryland.
Her practice has emphasized trial work and case development. She has handled matters that required courtroom appearances and prepared litigation for trial. Her leadership of a nursing home litigation group points to experience in cases that involve long-term care and eldercare issues, while her firm affiliations reflect participation in broader civil trial litigation.
At Jenner Law Trial Lawyers she practices as a partner and works out of several offices, including locations noted in Massachusetts and Virginia. She continues to try cases and manage complex civil matters on behalf of clients. She currently concentrates her practice on trial litigation, including nursing home matters and other civil trials.
