About Elena

Elena Volkova began her legal path at Fordham University, entering law school in 1999 and earning her J.D. in 2002. She completed a rigorous three-year program in New York, then moved quickly into private practice. The early years after law school were spent learning the rhythms of large law firm work and the demands of commercial practice.

Fresh out of Fordham in 2002, Volkova joined LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP as an associate. She spent the first phase of her career at that firm, taking on assignments common to associates at full-service firms. In 2006 she shifted to Linklaters LLP, where she continued in an associate role. Those posts placed her inside both U.S. and international firm environments and exposed her to cross-border matters and complex transactional workflows.

Across those years she built experience in deal execution and firm-side client service. She handled document drafting, due diligence, and coordination among multiple practice groups. Colleagues from that period recall a lawyer who preferred clear, practical solutions and careful attention to detail. She moved between teams and projects, adapting to different client needs and internal structures.

Volkova later left the large-firm track and established herself in private practice in New York. She is currently at Roizin & Volkova Law Group PLLC. There she works alongside other attorneys in a smaller firm setting, where case management and direct client contact take on a different pace than at the big firms. Her daily work now centers on matters arising under New York law and the practical issues clients face in that jurisdiction.

Her career traces a familiar arc: law school, large-firm training, then transition to a boutique practice. That path has shaped how she allocates time between research, drafting and client meetings. She has continued to maintain ties to the legal community in New York while building a practice that emphasizes hands-on legal work. She now practices at Roizin & Volkova Law Group PLLC, handling matters in New York.
