About Elaine
Elaine Jarvis earned a J.D. from the College of William and Mary in 1997, where she studied business and commercial law. She earlier completed a B.A. in history at the University of Maryland, College Park in 1994. Those academic years set the foundation for a practice that ranges from title work to litigation in Virginia federal courts.
She began her professional legal work in public interest settings and moved into roles that combined transactional and litigation responsibilities. In 2019 she joined Blue Ridge Legal Services as a staff lawyer, handling matters that often involved clients with limited resources. That position exposed her to a broad docket and to issues that intersect civil law and community needs.
Since 2022 she has served as the managing member of Jarvis Law PLLC. The firm address lists Jarvis Law PLLC as her practice office. Her work includes title examination and settlement services alongside representation in state and federal matters. She is admitted to practice in Virginia and holds membership in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Jarvis holds several Virginia Land Title Association certifications: Virginia Certified Title Examiner, Virginia Certified Title Settlement Agent, and Virginia Certified Title Insurance. Those credentials reflect an ongoing involvement in real property title work and the procedural details that accompany closing and underwriting. Her courtroom experience in federal district and bankruptcy courts complements that title practice when disputes require litigation.
Outside of the office she has maintained a steady presence in local nonprofit governance. She joined the board of Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity in 2020 and remains active there. From 2015 until 2021 she served as president of Strays Welcome Interfaith Ministry. She also served as secretary and board member for ROTH (Roof Over Their Heads) of Front Royal from 2016 to 2020, and as secretary of Warren County Habitat for Humanity from 2018 to 2019. Those roles reflect years of work on housing and shelter issues in her community.
Colleagues describe Jarvis as methodical in title matters and pragmatic in litigation settings. She balances administrative oversight at Jarvis Law PLLC with hands-on case work. Her practice currently concentrates on title examination, title settlement services, and related litigation in Virginia and in the Western District federal courts.
