About Edward
Edward Love trained in two different kinds of institutions. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from The Citadel in 2000 and a J.D. from Mercer University in 2003. Those credentials sit at the start of a career spent practicing law across state lines.
After law school, Love entered practice and took up work in jurisdictions that include South Carolina and Georgia. He is admitted to practice in both states and has built a practice that operates in their courts and regulatory systems. His early years in the profession involved learning how those systems work, and he has continued to practice within them since.
Throughout his career he has balanced work that requires courtroom presence and work that requires advising clients outside court. Colleagues describe him as practical in approach: he prefers clear options and direct analysis rather than flourish. That style shapes how he prepares for hearings and how he counsels clients facing legal decisions.
Love is a partner at King, Love & Smith, LLC. At the firm he handles matters arising in both states where he is licensed. The office brings together several attorneys whose practices intersect, and Love contributes by handling cases and client matters that involve multi-jurisdictional issues, procedural deadlines and advocacy at the trial level when required.
Outside the office he draws on his time at The Citadel for an organized approach to case preparation and on his legal training at Mercer for legal craftsmanship. He has continued to maintain the necessary bar affiliations to practice in Georgia and South Carolina and stays active in matters that call for familiarity with both states’ rules and courts. He writes and speaks to clients in plain language, aiming to make legal options understandable.
He is currently practicing at King, Love & Smith, LLC, serving clients in South Carolina and Georgia. His current practice focuses on providing legal services to clients across those two states through his role at the firm.
