About Dylan
Dylan Gehrtz came to law after studying criminal justice at the University of North Dakota. He earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice Studies in 2013. He then attended Marquette University Law School and received his J.D. in 2017.
His legal career began soon after law school. In 2017 he worked for Debt Advisors, S.C., where he spent a year gaining front-line experience in client counsel and case handling. In 2018 he joined Petit & Dommershausen, S.C., where he has continued to practice. His roles have included courtroom appearances and client counseling under Wisconsin law.
Gehrtz is licensed to practice in Wisconsin. His early training in criminal justice informs his approach to factual development and evidence. He is known among peers for being methodical and practical. He keeps to clear timelines and emphasizes steady preparation before hearings.
Outside the office he has taken on community responsibilities. Since 2018 he has held a board position with the Fox Cities Festival of Lights. That involvement has put him on a volunteer track that mixes organizational planning and local outreach. He also maintains memberships in professional groups in Wisconsin.
Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers to let case results speak for themselves. He writes plainly and prefers direct exchanges with clients. Courtroom work and negotiated resolutions have both featured in his practice, and he has handled matters that require attention to procedural detail and client communication.
He continues to practice at Petit & Dommershausen, S.C., representing clients in matters arising under Wisconsin law.
