About Dustin S.
Dustin S. McCrary earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001. He returned to his home state for graduate study and completed both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration at North Carolina Central University in 2005. The combination of legal and business degrees has informed the shape of his career ever since.
He joined the North Carolina State Bar in 2009 and began building courtroom and transactional experience in the years that followed. In 2010 he worked as an attorney at Homesley, Gaines & Dudley, LLP, where he handled matters that ranged from civil disputes to client counseling. That period sharpened his practical skills and exposed him to the day-to-day demands of representing both individuals and small businesses.
Two years later he launched his own practice. Since 2012 he has operated The Law Office of Dustin S. McCrary, PLLC. Running a solo firm required him to move between roles: adviser, litigator, administrator. He manages case intake, client communications, and courtroom preparation while overseeing the business side of the practice. Local involvement followed: he joined the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce in 2010 and has maintained that membership, cultivating connections in the regional business community.
McCrary is licensed to practice in North Carolina and maintains active membership in the state bar. His combined JD and MBA background is reflected in his approach to matters that intersect law and commerce. He tends to take practical steps early in a case, aiming to identify real-world consequences for clients and to present options that align legal strategy with financial realities.
Colleagues and clients describe him as straightforward in meetings and methodical in preparation. He appears in state courts and manages matters that touch on civil litigation and business issues. Outside court, he spends time on client counseling and drafting documents that clarify rights and obligations.
He continues to practice from his own firm in North Carolina. He focuses his practice on civil litigation and business law matters in the state.
