About Drew
Drew Chalfant balances practical business sense with legal training. He approaches client matters calmly and pragmatically, preferring clear solutions over legal theory.
Chalfant earned his J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. His coursework concentrated on business law, intellectual property and contract law, areas that continue to shape his daily practice.
Early in his career he served as general counsel for St. Gregory Development Group beginning in 2015. In that role he handled the legal work that accompanies development projects, including contract drafting and review, regulatory and compliance matters, and routine corporate governance tasks. The in-house experience gave him firsthand exposure to the operational side of business and to the kinds of practical problems that company leaders face.
In 2020 he became a partner at Roda | Chalfant. He shares firm leadership responsibilities and works directly with clients on transactional matters, intellectual property concerns and contract disputes. His practice spans transactions for small and mid-sized businesses and the legal work that supports ongoing commercial relationships.
Chalfant is admitted to the Ohio bar and participates in several professional organizations. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association. He also takes part in the ABA Forum on Franchising, which connects him to peers who handle franchise-related legal issues.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and unflappable in negotiations. He values plain language in contracts and tries to make legal documentation readable for clients who are not lawyers. That approach reflects both his in-house background and his current firm work.
Outside of client matters he stays involved in bar activities and professional programs that address business and franchise law developments. He maintains an active practice in Ohio. He concentrates his practice on business, intellectual property and contract matters for clients operating in the state.
