About Douglas W.

Douglas W. Jones built his legal foundation at Seton Hall University. He earned a B.A. in political science in 1993 and stayed on for a J.D., awarded in 1999. The academic path was straightforward. He arrived at law school intent on courtroom work and left with a law degree and a practical approach to litigation.

After law school, Jones entered practice in New Jersey. He joined the New Jersey legal community at the end of the 1990s and has remained active there since. He became a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association in 1999 and has maintained that affiliation through the present. Over the years he has handled matters at different levels of the court system and developed familiarity with both trial and appellate procedures.

Jones holds admission to practice in New Jersey, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and in the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect work that spans state and federal venues, including appellate work. He has represented clients in filings and proceedings that require navigation of federal appellate rules and the procedural demands of higher courts. He approaches those matters with attention to procedural detail and an emphasis on clear legal argument.

He runs a private practice under the name The Law Office of Douglas W. Jones, Jr., LLC. The office handles a range of disputes and filings in state and federal court. Jones often appears on behalf of clients in motions practice, trial preparation, and appellate submissions. He combines courtroom experience with a familiarity of the procedural rules that govern appeals and high-court filings.

Colleagues and clients see him as a practical lawyer who prioritizes preparation and clarity in written and oral advocacy. He has kept his practice small and focused, preferring to handle matters personally rather than delegate the core tasks of litigation. He maintains professional ties through the New Jersey State Bar Association, which he joined in 1999, and he continues to accept cases that require representation in state court, the Third Circuit, and on occasion, matters suitable for petition to the U.S. Supreme Court.

He currently practices through The Law Office of Douglas W. Jones, Jr., LLC, handling matters in state and federal courts, including appeals in the Third Circuit and cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.
