About Douglas
Douglas Phillips earned his law degree from Seton Hall University, finishing J.D. requirements in 2007 after earlier undergraduate study completed in 2004. He trained in a traditional law school environment and moved into private practice upon graduation. His education laid the groundwork for a career that crosses both litigation and transactional work.
He began his post-law school career at Jenner & Block, LLP, where he was on the roster in 2012. After that period he moved to Beveridge & Diamond, LLP and was listed there in 2014. Those early years gave him exposure to firm practice and large-client matters. In 2017 he opened his own shop, establishing Phillips Law Group, LLC. He remains the owner and principal of that firm.
Phillips is admitted to practice in Maryland. He also holds admission to the Federal District Court for Maryland and maintains a real estate broker’s license in the State of Maryland. Those credentials reflect a mix of courtroom and transactional authority. He uses his broker’s license alongside legal practice in matters that touch on property and real estate transactions.
Professional activity extends beyond his office. He holds membership in the State Bar of Maryland, the Bar Association of Baltimore City, and the Harford County Bar Association. He is also a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors. Those associations suggest a continuing engagement with both the legal community and the real estate sector.
Colleagues describe a lawyer who blends firm experience with solo practice management. His trajectory from national firms to running a small firm mirrors a broader trend among lawyers who prefer independent practice after years inside larger organizations. At Phillips Law Group he oversees client intake, case strategy, and business operations. The practice handles matters that intersect law and real estate.
Phillips’s combination of bar admissions, federal practice authorization, and a state real estate broker’s license positions him to handle disputes and transactional work that involve property, contracts, and regulatory issues. He balances courtroom experience from his early firm years with ongoing transactional activity tied to his broker credential.
He currently practices from Phillips Law Group, LLC and concentrates on legal matters involving real estate, related transactions, and civil litigation in Maryland.
