About Douglas Keith

Douglas Keith Marsico began his legal path at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice, Political Science and Liberal Studies in 1985. He went on to receive his J.D. from Widener University Delaware School of Law in 1990. Those classroom years set the foundation for a career that moved quickly from courts to the bar room.

After law school he entered the courthouse as a judicial law clerk. From 1994 he served the Honorable Richard A. Lewis at the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas. The clerkship gave him close exposure to trial practice, written opinions and the daily mechanics of trial court work.

Marsico then shifted to public prosecution. In 1995 he joined the Dauphin County District Lawyers Office as a prosecutor. That role put him in front of juries and in courtrooms across the county. It also shaped his view of criminal cases from the government side and provided practical, courtroom-honed experience.

By 1998 he moved into private practice as a partner at Caldwell & Kearns, P.C. He continued to appear in state courts and to manage a docket that included trials and motions practice. That partnership marked a transition to sustained private representation while retaining an active role in the local legal community.

Outside of casework, Marsico has been involved in legal education and professional organizations for decades. He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar and has belonged to the Dauphin County Bar Association since 1994. Since 1998 he has held membership with the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Beginning in 2001 he became an instructor for the Minor Judiciary Education Board, a post he continues to hold.

Colleagues and peers know him for steady courtroom work and for teaching judges and magistrates through the Minor Judiciary program. His career spans roles on both sides of criminal matters and on the bench through the clerkship, giving him a broad perspective on trial practice and local procedure.

He practices in Pennsylvania. His current work centers on criminal defense and courtroom litigation, and he maintains an active role in local bar activities and judicial education.
