About Corey
Corey Fahnestock completed his undergraduate studies in criminal justice at Pennsylvania State University in 2011. He went on to earn a J.D. from Western Michigan University in 2015. While still in law school he worked as a volunteer student lawyer at the State Appellate Defenders Office in Detroit in 2013, gaining early exposure to appellate work and client advocacy that informed his later practice.
After law school he served as a law clerk in 2016 for Handler Henning & Rosenberg in Harrisburg. The following year he joined Marcello & Kivisto in Carlisle as an associate in defense personal injury work. In 2018 he moved to The McShane Firm in Harrisburg as a litigation associate. Those roles gave him courtroom experience as well as time preparing cases from intake through motion practice and trial preparation.
Fahnestock’s credentialing reflects a steady concentration on criminal and impaired driving matters. He is admitted to practice before the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He completed a 2019 DUIDA seminar offered by PADDDA and attended a course on sentencing guidelines, intermediate punishment and related programs in Pennsylvania. He also took part in Forensic Chromatography XXII: Theory & Practice through the American Chemical Society and received training in DWI detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, a program recognized by the NHTSA. He has held membership in the DUI Defense Lawyers Association since 2018 and is listed as a member of PaDDDA during the same period.
Colleagues note his background spans both personal injury defense and criminal defense, which shapes how he approaches evidence and case strategy. He has worked on cases involving impaired driving and related forensic questions, and his training in chromatographic analysis and field sobriety protocols informs his litigation preparation. He has professional experience in Harrisburg and Carlisle courts, and he brings that courtroom familiarity to his current work.
He continues to practice at The McShane Firm in Harrisburg, where his work involves litigation and criminal defense, including DWI and related matters.
