About Devon
Devon Slovensky earned a B.A. in Economics and American Politics from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. The academic record laid the groundwork for a career that moves between courtrooms and conference rooms. Slovensky combines an understanding of law with an interest in the numbers that often decide family disputes.
Slovensky began practicing as a staff lawyer at Blue Ridge Legal Services, Inc. in 2013. That early work brought regular client contact and courtroom time. It also exposed Slovensky to the practical challenges families face when they seek legal help.
In 2017 Slovensky took on two new roles. Slovensky became the managing lawyer at Slovensky Divorce & Family Law. At the same time Slovensky served as Initial Director of the Virginia Nonprofit Law Center, P.C. Those positions required both casework and administrative oversight. Running a small practice and helping to steer a nonprofit law center gave Slovensky experience in the operational side of legal work as well as case-level strategy.
Slovensky holds certification as a Divorce Financial Analyst in Virginia. That credential signals specialized training in the financial dimensions of divorce: valuation, budgets, and settlement scenarios. Slovensky also participates in organized bar work. Slovensky is a current member of the Virginia State Bar Special Committee on Access to Legal Services and of the Ted Dalton American Inn of Court. Those roles keep Slovensky engaged in discussions about access, ethics, and professional standards.
Clients find Slovensky in Richmond and surrounding Virginia communities. The practice handles family law matters that range from contested divorces to negotiations over property and support. Slovensky draws on courtroom experience, fiscal training, and nonprofit leadership when advising clients. The approach is practical. It aims to align legal options with the financial realities families face.
Slovensky continues to practice law in Virginia and concentrates on family law matters, including divorce and the financial issues that accompany it.
