About Debra Andrea

Debra Andrea Jensen built the foundation of her legal career at Temple University. She earned a B.A. in 1976 and a J.D. in 1980. Those years in Philadelphia shaped the early contours of her practice and connected her to courts in the region.

Soon after law school she began work that led to senior roles at a prominent plaintiff-side firm. Over time she rose through the ranks to serve as Senior Partner and Managing Partner at Galfand Berger LLP. In that leadership position she has overseen case strategies, guided litigation teams, and managed day-to-day firm operations. She also sits on panels and engages colleagues on trial planning and procedural issues.

Jensen has taken on a formal adjudicatory role outside the firm. She serves as an arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. That work requires ruling on disputes, handling evidentiary matters and writing reasoned decisions. It also gives her perspective on how judges and juries receive evidence and argument.

Her court admissions reflect a career spent largely in Pennsylvania and in federal courts that hear appeals and trials from the state. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Those credentials support work at both the trial and appellate levels.

Professional involvement has been a steady part of Jensen’s practice. She holds memberships in the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Philadelphia Bar Association. She is also active in organizations that focus on trial advocacy and employment law, including the American Association for Justice, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. Memberships like these provide forums for continuing education and peer exchange.

Her practice is anchored in several regional offices. She maintains a presence in Philadelphia and Reading, and she works out of the Allentown/Bethlehem area. She also holds meetings at the USW Local 6996 Hall when cases and client needs call for it. That geographic spread reflects the local character of many of the cases she handles.

Jensen’s work combines courtroom litigation, appellate filings and arbitration. She continues to lead teams at Galfand Berger LLP and to serve as an arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Her current practice focuses on trial and appellate civil litigation and arbitration.
