About Deborah
Deborah McIntyre-Yurkovich studied at the University of Mary Washington before attending law school at George Mason University School of Law, where she earned her J.D. She built a foundation in legal research and case preparation early in her career, combining classroom training with hands-on experience in a small-firm setting.
Her first roles after law school were at William B. Reichhardt & Associates. She began there as a law clerk and paralegal in 2000, a position that gave her day-to-day exposure to client files and courtroom procedures. By 2002 she was practicing as an attorney at the same firm, handling casework that sharpened her courtroom skills and her understanding of Virginia practice and procedure.
Admission to the Virginia bar in 2002 marked a professional milestone. McIntyre-Yurkovich joined both the Virginia State Bar and the Fairfax Bar Association that year and maintains active memberships. She is also a member of the Virginia Women Lawyers Association. Through those affiliations she has stayed engaged with local legal issues and professional development programs.
In 2014 she took the next step in her career and became a founding partner at McIntyre DeFede Law PLLC. Starting a firm changed the day-to-day demands of her work. Her role expanded beyond client advocacy to include firm management, mentoring younger attorneys and shaping firm policies. The experience required balancing courtroom work, client intake and administrative responsibilities.
Colleagues and clients describe her as methodical and steady in court. She handles matters that require careful preparation and persistent follow-through. That steadiness traces back to her early years in a small firm, where she learned to move cases forward under tight timelines. She continues to engage in bar activities and local legal networks, participating in programs and meetings through the Virginia State Bar and the Fairfax Bar Association.
She currently practices at McIntyre DeFede Law PLLC, and her work centers on representing clients in matters brought in Virginia state courts.
