About Debbie Yeh

Debbie Yeh Joe graduated from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2001 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998. Her legal education followed a clear local path: undergraduate work in Los Angeles, then three years of law study that culminated in her J.D. in 2001. Those academic years set the stage for immediate admission to practice and early courtroom exposure.

Her first professional role after law school was as a law clerk in 2002 for the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. That post offered an introduction to federal procedure and the day-to-day demands of the district court. She then moved between private consulting and law firm roles in the mid-2000s, returning to consulting in 2005 before joining Kegel, Tobin & Truce as an associate in 2006.

In 2007 she shifted to Grancell, Lebovitz, Stander, Reubens & Thomas, where she continued as an associate. Those years in private practice covered litigation workflow, client preparation and the mechanics of trial and appellate filing practice. She also spent time as a consultant again in 2010, carving out space to advise outside of the traditional firm structure.

In 2014 she became a partner at Joe, Southard & Yeoh LLP. Becoming a partner marked a transition to firm leadership and deeper involvement in case strategy, client management and mentoring younger lawyers. Outside of firm work she took on public-facing roles consistent with her licensure: she has served as a Notary Public of the State of California since 2015 and maintains active membership in courts where she is admitted.

Licensed to practice in California, she has been a member of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California since 2001. Her career blends time in the federal courthouse, stints in private consulting and long stretches in private firms, culminating in her current role as a partner at Joe, Southard & Yeoh LLP. She practices law in California and appears in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
