About Phillip

Phillip Selio built his legal foundation at the University of California, Riverside, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2011 studying philosophy and law and society. He went on to attend California Western School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2019. Those years in the classroom and clinic set a clear path into practice.

After law school, Selio moved through a series of early-career positions that exposed him to courtroom procedure, transactional work and client counseling. He served as a legal intern and then as a judicial intern at the San Diego County Superior Court in 2018. During the same period he volunteered in a law clinic run by the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, helping underserved residents on discrete legal matters. In 2019 he took on a legal externship at Lee Shome & Kennedy, LLP and later accepted an in-house role as legal counsel at AGI Business Group, Inc.

The next phase of his career brought him back to private practice. Selio worked as an associate at Chang & Cote, LLP in 2021. That position involved firm-side responsibilities and client representation across matters handled by the team. In 2022 he founded Propel Law, PC and became principal. The move to lead a small firm follows a stretch of both in-house and firm experience.

Selio maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 2016 and joined the Los Angeles County Bar Association in 2017. In 2022 he added membership in the California Lawyers Association. He is licensed to practice in California and has continued to develop practice experience there since completing his J.D.

Colleagues and clients describe him as deliberate in courtroom settings and attentive in client meetings. His early work in a courthouse and in legal aid clinics appears to have influenced how he approaches matters — methodically and with an eye to practical resolution. He has handled roles that require drafting, research and client-facing advocacy.

At Propel Law, PC Selio manages the practice and oversees client matters. He continues to build the firm’s work and to serve clients across the range of services the office provides. His current practice centers on providing legal services through Propel Law, PC.
