About Dean
Dean Galigani earned his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1986, after completing his undergraduate studies there a year earlier. His academic path was straightforward and local. He remained connected to Florida law from the start of his career.
He moved into public defense early on. In 1990 he served in the 8th Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office as an assistant public defender and held the role of division chief. That period shaped much of his courtroom experience. It also exposed him to a wide range of criminal cases and courtroom procedures across the circuit.
In 2004 he left public service and opened his own practice, Galigani Law Office, where he serves as owner and managing attorney. Building and managing a small firm changed the rhythm of his work. He shifted from the structure of a public office to the demands of private practice. The transition meant handling all aspects of case management, client relations, and trial preparation.
His professional credentials include Board Certification in Criminal Trial Law from The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization. That credential indicates an emphasis on criminal trial practice and formal recognition from the state bar. He also maintains practice activity in the 8th Circuit.
Throughout his career he has maintained memberships in several professional groups. He is current with the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association, and the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association. These affiliations keep him connected to peers and developments in criminal defense practice.
His day-to-day practice centers on criminal defense work. He handles cases from initial arraignment through trial and appeals when necessary. He draws on his courtroom background from both the public defender’s office and private practice. Clients who come to his office can expect attention to case detail and an emphasis on courtroom preparation.
Outside of those roles there is little public record of other posts or publications. He appears to concentrate his professional activity on casework and maintaining ties to court communities within the circuit. His current practice is focused on criminal defense at Galigani Law Office.
