About Dawn L.

Dawn L. Richards built a career that crosses accounting, healthcare finance and law. She began her higher education in Las Vegas, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Nevada–Las Vegas in 1989 and a Master of Science in Management from the same school in 1992. She returned to the classroom more than a decade later and received her Juris Doctor from Temple University in 2003.

Her early professional life was rooted in finance. In 1991 she is listed as a chief financial officer in healthcare finance, a role that exposed her to hospital operations, reimbursement systems and the regulatory side of healthcare money management. That background informed her later shift into law. After finishing law school she moved into private practice and gradually combined her financial expertise with legal work.

Richards opened the Law Offices of Dawn Richards in 2008. The next year she joined Capozzi Adler, P.C. as a lawyer, a position that followed the establishment of her own practice. In 2017 she began practicing under the name Dawn Richards Law. Her résumé shows movement between firm work and solo practice rather than a single linear path. The record suggests an attorney who has balanced ownership and collaboration over time.

She maintains memberships in a number of professional organizations that reflect the intersection of health care and law in her work. She has belonged to the Healthcare Financial Management Association since 1993 and joined the American Health Lawyers Association in 2007. She is a member of the American Bar Association since 2008 and has been active in the Pennsylvania Bar Association at a committee level since 2009. Her state bar memberships include the Florida Bar (since 2017) and the Georgia Bar (since 2019). She also holds certification as a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional from HCCA.

According to public listings, Richards is admitted in Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia, and she is authorized to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the D.C. Circuit. Those admissions align with the mix of regulatory, compliance and appellate work that can follow from a background in healthcare finance and a compliance credential.

Her practice merges legal and financial perspectives on health care matters. Clients who need counsel on regulatory compliance, healthcare financial issues and related ethics questions are typical of the matters she handles. She currently maintains a private practice under the name Dawn Richards Law and concentrates on healthcare regulatory and compliance work.
