About David T.
David T. Albrechta is a Colorado attorney whose path to the law passed through public policy and state government. He earned his J.D. from The University of Toledo College of Law in 2014, where he studied labor and employment law. His undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Philosophy from The College of Wooster, awarded in 2008.
His early career mixed legal work and policy analysis. In 2008 he served as a policy analyst and policy office coordinator for the State of Colorado. He worked as a policy analyst for the Colorado Senate Majority Office in 2010. That blend of law and policy continued in 2011 when he took a law clerk position at Albrechta & Coble, Ltd., gaining hands-on experience in litigation support and client work.
Within a few years he moved into private practice partnership. He became a partner at Albrechta & Albrechta, LLC in 2015. The firm has been his professional home since then. He is admitted to practice in Colorado and maintains memberships in regional and national employment law organizations.
His training and association memberships indicate a practice centered on employment disputes. He has been a member of the Colorado Plaintiffs Employment Lawyers Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association since 2016. He also holds membership in the Southwest Colorado Bar Association and another professional organization since 2015. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with plaintiff-side employment law and local bar activity.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and steady in court settings. He handles matters typical for employee-side employment law, such as wrongful termination claims, discrimination matters and wage-and-hour disputes. He works on litigation from investigation and pleadings to trial, and he also handles pre-litigation counseling for clients navigating workplace conflicts.
Outside the office he has maintained ties to public policy work he began early in his career. That background informs how he approaches regulatory issues and legislative developments that affect employment law. He combines courtroom experience with an understanding of how statutes and rules are shaped at the state level.
He continues to practice at Albrechta & Albrechta, LLC, where his work centers on employment law and related litigation for employees.
