About David
David Steinfeld took an uncommon path into the courtroom. He studied East Asian Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, graduating in 1989, and earned his J.D. from the University of Miami in 1993. Those two degrees set a foundation that blends an international perspective with traditional legal training.
His early professional life included military service. In 1996 he served as a captain in the U.S. Army. That period left an imprint on how he approaches complex problems. After moving into private practice, he spent years building trial experience. He was an associate at Page Mrachek beginning in 2002 and became a senior litigation associate at Kramer Sopko Levenstein PA in 2004. In 2012 he opened his own firm, the Law Office of David Steinfeld, PL, assuming responsibility for client intake, strategy and courtroom presentation.
Steinfeld’s courtroom admissions extend beyond the state level. He is admitted to practice in Florida and in several federal courts, including the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida. He is also admitted to the Eleventh Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials have allowed him to handle matters ranging from federal district litigation to appellate briefing.
Board certification shapes much of his professional identity. He is board certified in Business Litigation by The Florida Bar and has completed recertification cycles. That credential is detailed and specific; it signals familiarity with business litigation rules and procedures rather than general practice. He has also maintained memberships in organizations tied to litigation practice and e-discovery, and in 2012 became a senior fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
He has been active in local and statewide bar activities. Roles include president and president-elect of the Palm Beach County Bar North County Section, chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Business Litigation CLE Committee, and membership on the Florida Supreme Court’s Business & Contract Jury Instructions Committee from 2014 to 2017. In 2013 he served as a professor of law at Dankook University Law School in South Korea, an appointment that reflected earlier academic interests in East Asia.
Steinfeld’s practice today centers on business litigation and related dispute work. He represents clients in state and federal courts, handles appeals, and advises on litigation strategy. His current practice is focused on resolving complex commercial disputes in state and federal forums.
