David S. Burleson earned his J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 1990 after completing his coursework beginning in 1987. He built his legal foundation in those early years and soon moved into private practice. His career spans more than three decades in both state and federal courts in the Midwest.
He began as an associate at Reinhardt & Anderson in 1992. That role put him in day-to-day practice and client service early in his career. Six years later he helped found Buss & Burleson, S.C., taking on the responsibilities that come with creating a firm. The move marked a shift from employee to principal and set the tone for later ventures.
In 2006 he launched two firms: Fresh Start Legal Group, Inc., and Vantage Disability Lawyers, LLC. The names reflect different approaches to client needs and the varieties of practice a small firm attorney often handles. In 2012 he established Burleson Legal Group, LLC and has served as owner and managing lawyer since then. That position consolidates his practice and administration under a single firm banner.
Burleson is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and in several federal district courts. His federal admissions include the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the Western District of Michigan.
