About David

David Neufeld built a legal education that moved from accounting into tax law. He earned a B.A. in Management Science and Accounting from Duke University in 1975, received his J.D. from New York Law School in 1980 and completed an LL.M. in Taxation at New York University School of Law in 1983. Those years framed an early interest in the technical side of law and finance.

Early in his career he served as a lawyer-advisor to Judge Jacobs at the United States Tax Court in 1984. That role placed him inside the federal tax adjudication process. It exposed him to the procedural and substantive issues that often define complex tax disputes.

He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He holds memberships in the New Jersey State Bar and the New York State Bar. He is also active in the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust & Estate Section, where he has held several leadership roles, including Chair of the Insurance & Financial Planning Committee and Co-Chair of the Corporate Sponsorship Committee. Those committee posts reflect an interest in the intersections of estate planning, insurance vehicles and corporate relationships.

Neufeld’s practice has combined tax, estate planning and business concerns. He has worked on matters that require translating tax law into practical advice for individuals and families, as well as for closely held businesses. His background in accounting informs that work. He approaches client matters by parsing complex rules and presenting options in concrete terms rather than abstract theory.

He practices at Flaster Greenberg PC, maintaining ties to the firm’s offices in Princeton and Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Colleagues describe him as steady in deliberation and exacting in document work. His courtroom experience at the Tax Court and his committee work in the ABA supply him with both procedural insight and a steady flow of developments in trust and estate law.

Outside of formal roles he has participated in bar activities and professional committees that address insurance, financial planning and sponsorship matters within the trusts and estates field. Those engagements keep him connected to evolving practice issues and to other attorneys handling similar problems.

He currently practices at Flaster Greenberg PC, where his work centers on tax-related estate planning, trust matters and business succession planning.
