About Alex Paul
Alex Paul Genato built his legal foundation at Seton Hall University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. in 2005 after completing a B.A. at Binghamton University in 2002. He moved quickly from law school into courtroom and office settings that would shape a practice centered on tax matters.
His first year after law school was spent clerking for the Honorable Vito L. Bianco at the Tax Court of New Jersey. That clerkship gave him an early, practical exposure to tax procedure and judicial decision making. In 2006 he joined McCarter & English as an associate. The firm environment deepened his client-side experience and involved him in contested matters and transactional work.
Three years later he became a partner at Archer & Greiner, P.C. The move marked a shift to long-term client relationships and a leadership role inside a larger firm structure. As a partner he handled litigation and counseling for individuals and businesses. He has argued matters in state and federal courts and appeared before administrative tribunals.
Genato is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, and he is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Those admissions allow him to handle matters in both trial and appellate forums. His background in tax court proceedings and federal litigation informs how he prepares cases and advises clients.
Outside of firm practice, he has maintained active ties to professional organizations. Since 2014 he has served as Second Vice Chair of the Taxation Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. That role has involved coordinating section activities and contributing to the conversation on state tax policy and practitioner issues.
His work has combined courtroom advocacy with transactional tax planning and dispute resolution. He has counseled clients through audits, contested assessments, and negotiated settlements. Clients have ranged from small business owners to larger corporate taxpayers, and his work has spanned state tax issues and federal tax controversies.
He is based at Archer & Greiner, P.C., where he manages litigation and advisory matters. He currently practices at Archer & Greiner, P.C., handling tax controversy, planning and related litigation.
