About David G
David G Thomas built a steady path into law that relied on classroom rigor and years in the courthouse. He earned a J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2010 after completing a B.S. in psychology at the University of Alabama in 2007. Those years shaped his approach to litigation and client work.
He began his professional career as an associate at Radney, Radney & Jackson, LLC in 2011. The work there gave him early exposure to contested matters and courtroom procedure. In 2017 he moved into a litigation management role at Cordell & Cordell. That position expanded his responsibilities; he oversaw case strategy and coordinated teams handling family law disputes.
In 2022 he launched Thomas Family Law, LLC. Founding his own firm returned him to a smaller-practice setting. It also put him in charge of case intake, client counseling and courtroom advocacy. Since then he has balanced the administrative demands of running a firm with active litigation on behalf of clients.
Thomas is active in the Alabama bar community. He holds memberships in the Birmingham Bar Association, the Tallapoosa County Bar Association, the Alabama Association for Justice and the Alabama Bar Association. Those memberships keep him connected to local judges and fellow attorneys and provide access to continuing legal education and professional resources.
Colleagues describe him as a straightforward advocate who prepares cases thoroughly and pursues practical resolutions when possible. He brings courtroom experience gained over more than a decade to each matter. His background in psychology informs how he prepares witnesses and presents sensitive family law issues to judges.
Outside the courtroom he manages the operational side of a small law firm. That includes supervising support staff, setting case budgets and handling client intake. He has structured his practice to handle contested and uncontested family law matters while maintaining control over case strategy and client communication.
He is licensed to practice in Alabama and has built a practice based in the state. He currently represents clients at Thomas Family Law, LLC, handling family law matters.
