About Shawn
Shawn Jarrett took a direct route into courtroom work. He earned his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and followed that with practical trial training at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. The combination of formal study and practical courtroom exercises helped shape how he approaches cases: attentive to detail, ready to examine evidence, and prepared to present arguments under pressure.
He practices in Indiana. In 2024 he joined Stange Law Office, PC as a senior associate lawyer. That role placed him on matters that move through the courts. He handles discovery, drafts motions, prepares witnesses and appears in hearings. His title reflects a level of responsibility inside the firm. It also signals regular courtroom involvement rather than purely transactional work.
Jarrett’s trial advocacy training is a prominent thread in his career. NITA’s program is hands-on. Participants run mock trials, practice direct and cross-examinations, and refine opening and closing statements. That training has informed his litigation style and how he prepares for trial phases of a case. He has applied those skills to the firm’s caseload, working alongside litigators who try cases in state courts across Indiana.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and practical in the courtroom. He balances a measured pace during pretrial work with more assertive advocacy when a matter reaches a hearing or trial. He is comfortable both in written advocacy and oral argument. Much of his day-to-day consists of managing complex pleadings and coordinating with experts, while also stepping into court when matters require immediate, in-person advocacy.
Jarrett works out of Stange Law Office, PC’s offices. The firm’s structure gives him access to resources for litigation support and expert witnesses. It also places him among attorneys who handle a steady volume of contested matters. He has taken on roles that require both individual case ownership and collaboration on larger, multi-attorney files.
Outside of litigation training, his record shows continued involvement in professional development and courtroom practice. That trajectory—law school, trial advocacy training, then steady litigation work at a multi-office firm—frames his approach today. He is licensed to practice in Indiana and currently concentrates on litigation and trial work at Stange Law Office, PC.
