About Daniel O
Daniel O Tully studied criminal justice as an undergraduate and went on to earn a law degree. He received a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Norwich University in 1984 and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School in 1987. Those academic years set the stage for a long legal career in Connecticut.
He entered private practice after law school and became a partner in 1991 at the firm that today bears his name. Over three decades at Kilbourne & Tully, P.C. he has worked alongside colleagues on a range of legal matters. The partnership title reflects a steady climb through the ranks rather than a sudden change of course.
Tully holds current membership in the State Bar of Connecticut. That active association ties him to the professional rules and continuing education standards that govern practice in the state. He has maintained his practice in the same firm environment for many years, which provides continuity for long-term clients and institutional knowledge for newer attorneys in the office.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in approach. He favors clear explanations and practical options when advising clients. In court or at the negotiating table he aims for outcomes that reflect the client’s priorities. He is comfortable handling tasks that require attention to procedural detail as well as those that demand a strategic view of a matter’s long-term consequences.
His career has been spent largely within the Kilbourne & Tully structure, where he joined as an associate and rose to partner. That continuity has allowed him to develop a broad view of the firm’s practice areas and to mentor younger lawyers. He has seen changes in the legal landscape since the early 1990s, adapting his practice to new rules, technologies, and client expectations.
Outside the courtroom he participates in the routines of firm life: supervising cases, meeting with clients, and coordinating with other lawyers on multi-faceted matters. He maintains professional ties through the State Bar and keeps abreast of developments that affect his clients. He currently practices at Kilbourne & Tully, P.C., where his work concentrates on providing legal representation and counsel to the firm’s clients.
