About Bernard Kennedy
Bernard Kennedy III built his legal path deliberately. He earned his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2018 and entered the Connecticut legal community soon after.
Early in his career he served as a temporary assistant clerk for the Connecticut Superior Court in 2019. That role put him inside the courthouse and offered a close view of how judges and court staff handle filings, calendars and hearings. He took that practical courtroom exposure into private practice later the same year when he joined Goff Law Group LLC as an associate.
His associate positions through the next several years gave him steady, hands-on work for clients. In 2020 he was an associate at Prue Law Group, P.C., and in 2021 he joined Hershman Legal Group, P.C. At those firms he handled client intake, drafted pleadings and motions, conducted research and prepared for hearings. The assignments covered a range of matters common to small and mid-sized firms and added layers of practical experience in client counseling and litigation preparation.
Kennedy has also maintained professional ties within the state bar. He has been a member of the Connecticut Bar Association since 2019. The membership has kept him connected to continuing legal education and state-level developments affecting court procedure and practice.
In 2023 he opened The Law Office of Bernard T. Kennedy III. As the owner he manages the day-to-day operations of a small firm while continuing client work. The move to establish his own practice followed several years of both courtroom work and client representation at other firms. It also reflects a shift from being an associate to running a solo practice where he oversees case strategy and office administration.
Colleagues describe him as someone who learned the mechanics of courtroom procedure early on and who approaches client matters in a methodical way. He has balanced roles that required behind-the-scenes preparation with appearances in court. Those experiences inform how he prepares cases and communicates with clients about realistic next steps.
