About Daniel L
Daniel L Feder entered the legal profession after completing a traditional path through northeastern liberal arts and a California law school. He earned a B.A. in American History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984 and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1987. Those academic steps set the stage for a career spent largely in litigation circles.
Fresh out of law school, Feder joined Thornton, Taylor & Downs as an associate in 1987. The early years of his practice involved trial work and courtroom exposure. He later moved to Berg, Ziegler, Lichtman & Anderson in 1991 and then to Sher, Blumenfeld & O'Leary in 1992. Each stop added years of hands-on experience in litigation and client representation.
Feder’s professional memberships reflect the kinds of cases he has handled. He has been a member of the National Employment Law Association since 1996. He belongs to the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and the Bar Association of San Francisco, both memberships dating to 1987. He is also listed as a Platinum member of Consumer Lawyers of California since 1987. Those affiliations indicate sustained involvement in employment and consumer litigation communities over decades.
He is licensed to practice in California and admitted to appear before the Ninth Circuit. His practice history shows long-term residency in California’s legal forums and repeated engagement with trial work. Over time he built a practice that emphasized courtroom advocacy and representation for individuals and small entities in disputes that reach trial.
Colleagues describe Feder as a lawyer who stays in the work for the long haul. He has moved through several downtown firms early in his career before establishing his own office. That transition is common among trial lawyers who seek more direct control over case selection and litigation strategy.
Today, Feder operates from The Law Office of Daniel Feder. The office handles civil litigation matters that align with his association memberships, including employment and consumer cases. He continues to appear in state courts in California and in the Ninth Circuit when matters require appellate attention. His current practice focuses on employment and consumer litigation.
