About Daniel Joseph

Daniel Joseph Shamy built his academic foundation around words and law. He earned a B.A. in English Writing and History from Rider University in 1998 and completed his J.D. at Nova Southeastern University in 2001. Those years shaped the way he approaches cases: attentive to narrative, and alert to how facts and precedent fit together.

After law school, Shamy moved into practice and steadily expanded the range of matters he handles. He is admitted to practice in Florida, before the U.S. Supreme Court, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Those admissions reflect an attorney who has navigated both trial-level and appellate procedures. He has worked in private practice and in firm settings, developing a practice that touches on litigation and appellate work in state and federal venues.

The arc of his career includes courtroom appearances and filings at multiple levels. He has experience drafting briefs, arguing motions, and managing the procedural demands of appeals. He also deals with the pretrial work that shapes eventual litigation strategies. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing records and clear in laying out legal issues, preferring direct analysis over obfuscation.

Shamy’s approach to cases combines legal research and close attention to the written record. He pays particular attention to appellate standards of review and to preserving issues for appeal. That practical orientation affects how he handles trials and dispositive motions at earlier stages. He aims to leave a clear trail for any matter that may advance into appellate review.

He currently practices at K/S, Lawyers at Law. In that setting he handles matters that require litigation skills and appellate experience. His practice spans federal and state proceedings, and he represents clients in both trial courts and appellate courts. He maintains the courtroom readiness that comes from regular litigation and the procedural familiarity required for appellate filings.

Outside the courtroom, Shamy’s background in English writing informs his drafting. He treats briefs and motions as arguments that must be both precise and readable. That emphasis on clarity extends to client communications; he seeks to make complex legal issues understandable without oversimplifying them.

As of 2026, Daniel Joseph Shamy’s practice centers on litigation and appellate representation in federal and state courts.
