About Daniel Adam

Daniel Adam Schlanger took an unconventional route into law. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Carleton College in 1990 and later returned to formal study, receiving his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2004. The span between degrees shaped a practice built on a broad view of public life and the tools of litigation.

He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Schlanger also maintains membership in the Ohio State Bar in inactive status, and he belongs to the New York State Bar. Those admissions allow him to handle matters across state and federal forums in the region.

Professional organizations figure prominently in his career. Since 2012 he has served as Co-Chair of the Pro Bono Committee of the Westchester County Bar Association. He has been active in the National Association of Consumer Advocates and has participated on its Education Committee. He is a member of the New York City Bar Association and has taken part in its Civil Courts Committee. His long-standing involvement with these groups signals continued engagement with court practice and access-to-justice issues.

Schlanger’s practice is centered at Schlanger Law Group, LLP. There he represents clients in matters that arise in civil courts and in federal proceedings. His courtroom work includes appearances in trial courts and filings in appellate forums, reflecting the range of his admissions. Over the years he has combined case work with committee service and educational programs through professional associations.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He breaks problems into their legal components and prefers clear, direct advocacy. He also invests time in pro bono work through the Westchester County Bar Association, a role that has shaped how he approaches individual client matters and community legal needs.

Outside of casework he participates in continuing legal education and committee meetings for bar organizations. That keeps him current on procedural developments and civil court practice. He concentrates his practice on consumer advocacy and civil litigation.
