About Daniel A.
Daniel A. Ragland built a steady legal career centered in Georgia courts and federal forums. He earned both his bachelor’s degree in business and his law degree from The University of Georgia School of Law, completing the J.D. in 1988 and the B.B.A. in 1985. Those years set the foundation for a practice that would move from large-firm litigation to running his own offices.
Fresh out of law school he joined Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi in Atlanta as an associate in 1988. Seven years later he became a partner at the same firm. That period provided him with courtroom experience and exposure to complex civil matters. In 2004 he left to start Ragland & Jones, LLP, taking on a founding partner role in a smaller, more focused setting. Thirteen years after that he established Ragland Law Office, LLC in 2017, where he continues to lead the practice.
Ragland’s credentials include admission to practice before the courts that most civil litigators in Georgia use. He is listed for the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and federal appellate work in the 11th and 4th Circuits. Those admissions reflect a practice that has spanned trial and appellate work at both state and federal levels.
His professional memberships mirror the kinds of cases his offices have handled. He holds active memberships in the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of national groups such as the American Association for Justice and the Association of Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. Memberships with the National Spinal Cord Injury Association and the Brain Injury Associations of Georgia and America indicate sustained involvement with injury-related matters.
Clients and colleagues describe Ragland as a lawyer who moved from a large-firm environment into independent practice to control the direction of his caseload. His file history shows work at trial and on appeal. He maintains an active litigation practice through Ragland Law Office, LLC and appears in the state and federal courts where he is admitted. He currently concentrates his practice on civil litigation involving personal injury, catastrophic injury, and trucking-related matters.
