About Dan

Dan Listug earned his Juris Doctor from Hamline University in 2007. He completed his legal studies at a time when the Minnesota bar and courts were adapting to new procedural and technological changes. That period shaped the early steps of his career.

After law school, Listug established his practice in Minnesota. He is licensed to work in the state and has spent his career serving clients across Minnesota's legal system. His work has kept him close to local rules, judges and the practical rhythms of the state courts.

Colleagues describe Listug as steady and deliberate in court. He approaches matters in a straightforward way, preferring clear analysis and practical solutions over rhetoric. Those habits grew out of routine work in state proceedings and client counseling, where clarity often drives outcomes.

In the office, Listug has handled both client meetings and the drafting that follows. He has navigated motions, filings and the deadlines that shape litigation calendars. He also manages the negotiating table when settlement makes sense for the client. That blend of courtroom and negotiation work reflects the mixed demands many Minnesota matters present.

Listug’s education at Hamline provided a foundation in legal research and writing, two skills that remain central to his practice. He also draws on the local perspective he developed after moving from law school to practice in Minnesota. That perspective informs how he frames arguments and prioritizes client needs.

Clients find him practical in setting expectations. He tends to outline likely pathways and the trade-offs involved in each. This approach helps people make informed choices about whether to press a claim, seek settlement or pursue other remedies under Minnesota law.

Outside of court dates and client meetings, much of Listug’s work involves staying current on state procedural changes and relevant case law. For an attorney practicing solely within Minnesota, that ongoing attention to local developments is part of maintaining an effective practice.

He currently practices law in Minnesota.
