About Craig
Craig Shirley is an attorney based in Alabama who entered the legal profession after completing a business undergraduate degree and law school in the state. He earned a B.S. in Finance from Auburn University before attending Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he received his J.D. in 2019. Those years combined numerical discipline and legal training, and they set the stage for the practice he has pursued since.
After law school, Shirley became active in the Alabama legal community. He joined the Alabama Bar Association in 2019 and has maintained that membership since. He also affiliated with the Birmingham Bar Association the same year and became a member of the Alabama Association for Justice in 2021. These memberships mark his ongoing engagement with professional circles and continuing legal education in the state.
Shirley joined the firm Hollis Wright in 2021. At the firm he has taken on responsibilities that include client representation and courtroom work. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and responsive to client questions. He has worked on matters that require written pleadings, discovery management, and advocacy in hearings and trials when necessary.
Before arriving at Hollis Wright, Shirley’s path included the combination of finance and law that often proves useful in client counseling and case assessment. His finance background helps when analyzing economic damages and interpreting financial documents. His legal training at Cumberland School of Law provided the doctrinal and procedural foundation he uses in day-to-day practice.
Outside casework, Shirley participates in local bar activities and educational programs through his association memberships. He attends meetings and seminars offered by the Alabama Bar Association, Birmingham Bar Association, and the Alabama Association for Justice. Those activities keep him current on procedural developments and emerging legal issues in Alabama courts.
He maintains an active law license and practices from the Hollis Wright offices. His work centers on representing clients in litigation and related legal matters, combining his finance education and legal training in service of client needs.
