About Correy Austin
Correy Austin Diviney built a legal foundation at the College of William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law, completing a Juris Doctor in 2006. They arrived in law school after undergraduate studies and left with the credential required to begin a career in Virginia law. The classroom years at William & Mary remain a touchstone for Diviney’s approach to practice: disciplined, practical and anchored to doctrine.
Diviney’s professional path has been rooted in Virginia. After law school, Diviney entered private practice and took on a variety of matters typical for attorneys beginning their careers in the state. Over time, Diviney joined the firm now known as Strickland, Diviney & Segura. Colleagues at the firm and opposing counsel know Diviney as someone who handles client matters steadily and who knows when to litigate and when to negotiate.
Outside of the office, Diviney maintains current memberships in professional associations relevant to the practice of law. Those memberships provide continuing legal education and a network of peers. Diviney has used those connections to keep current on changes in Virginia law and procedure and to stay involved in issues affecting the local bar.
At Strickland, Diviney practices from the firm’s office and contributes to its daily work. The firm’s name reflects a partnership that includes Diviney, and the office serves clients from across the region. Diviney’s work there involves client counseling, case preparation and courtroom appearances when needed. The practice combines courtroom time with transactional work and client meetings.
Peers describe Diviney as methodical in case preparation. Papers and filings are handled deliberately. Court appearances are prepared with a clear plan. That steadiness has defined Diviney’s reputation within the firm and among clients who seek practical legal assistance.
Today, Diviney continues to serve clients through Strickland, Diviney & Segura, practicing under the laws and court rules of Virginia. Diviney’s current practice focuses on legal matters arising in Virginia.
