Colleen Frances Van Egmond is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Van Egmond is a managing partner at Swingle, Van Egmond & Heitlinger, a law firm located at 1207 I Street, Modesto, California. She has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout the Central Valley region.

Ms. Van Egmond earned her Juris Doctor degree from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, graduating in 2005. During her time at McGeorge, she received a certificate in taxation and served as a teaching assistant for International Advocacy. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, earning a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics with a concentration in Agricultural Economics in 2002. She also holds an Associate of Science in Agricultural Business from Modesto Junior College.

Ms. Van Egmond concentrates her practice in the areas of business transactions, business litigation, estate planning, estate litigation, probate cases, and financial elder abuse. She represents individuals and businesses in matters involving wrongful death cases, trucking accidents, business fraud, business disputes, estate litigation, and financial elder abuse. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.

Throughout her career, Ms. Van Egmond has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Stanislaus, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate at Thayer Harvey Gregerson Hedberg & Jackson and Curtis & Arata.

Ms. Van Egmond is an active member of the Association of Defense Counsel and the Stanislaus County Bar Association. She has served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Children's Crisis Center and has been involved in providing pro bono legal services aiding seniors through the Senior Law Project in Stanislaus County. She is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of the Central Valley effectively.
