About Coleman
Coleman Sylvan earned his Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2005. He arrived in law school after earlier study and left with a law degree at a time when the Texas legal market was changing. He has kept a steady presence in the state since then.
He began his legal career in Collin County in 2005, serving as an assistant district lawyer. That early work placed him in the courthouse and in front of judges and juries. The experience shaped how he approaches casework and client interaction.
In 2012 he founded The Sylvan Firm, LLC and remains the firm's owner. He built the practice over more than a decade, handling matters that take him into Texas state courts. He runs the firm from its listed office and manages both the administrative side and the legal work of the practice.
Mr. Sylvan maintains current membership in professional associations. He has participated in association activities and kept up with continuing legal education and professional standards expected of practicing lawyers. Those memberships provide a forum for exchange with other lawyers in the region.
His professional path reflects time spent in public service followed by years as a private practitioner. The transition from a county-level legal office to founding a private firm gave him experience on both sides of the courtroom. He has represented clients across a range of matters in Texas over the course of his career.
