About Cindy
Cindy Robinson entered law school after completing a liberal arts education at Wesleyan University. She earned her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1986. The timing set the stage for a courtroom career that would begin in the late 1980s and continue into the present.
She joined the Connecticut legal community immediately after law school. By 1987 she was working as a trial lawyer at Tremont Sheldon Robinson Mahoney PC, where she spent decades handling contested matters before judges and juries. Over time she built a record of sustained courtroom practice, taking on the types of cases that test a lawyer’s ability to prepare witnesses, manage evidence and argue complex legal points under pressure.
In 2021 she helped establish Robinson Mahoney PLLC and became a founding partner. The move consolidated a long practice into a smaller firm structure. It also reflected a transition from being one among several partners to taking responsibility for firm leadership and case direction in a new setting.
Robinson’s credentials include board certification in civil trial law from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. That certification recognizes competence in bench and jury trials in civil matters. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, enabling her to bring federal and state claims to trial.
Professional memberships have filled much of her calendar outside the courtroom. She has been a member of the Connecticut Bar Association since 1986 and of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association since 1987. She joined the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association in 1993 and has served on its board. National affiliations include membership in the American Association for Justice and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Her peers elected her a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2009 and a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2014.
Those honors reflect recognition from other litigators rather than awards from clients or marketing lists. They signal that colleagues have entrusted her with roles and memberships that require demonstrated trial work and ethical standing.
Courtroom practice has remained central to her work across decades. Her career path follows a steady line from law school to long-term trial practice and then to founding a firm that continues that work today. She currently practices at Robinson Mahoney PLLC, handling civil trial litigation.
