About Christopher
Christopher Wegner built a steady path through law and tax over the course of two decades. He began his higher education in Florida, earning a B.B.A. in computer science from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2002. He moved into legal studies at Stetson University College of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2006. He later completed an LL.M. in Taxation at New York University School of Law in 2009.
His early legal work placed him inside the federal courthouse. In 2007 he served as a staff lawyer for the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida. That role gave him hands-on exposure to federal procedures and courtroom administration. He worked on matters that touched both procedural and substantive aspects of federal litigation, and he saw how tax and business issues often intersect with litigation in that setting.
After several years in and around the courthouse he moved into private practice. In 2014 he joined Akerman LLC as an associate lawyer. At Akerman he handled matters that drew on his tax training and his litigation experience. His time at a larger firm sharpened his drafting and client counseling skills. It also expanded his familiarity with commercial clients and the kinds of tax and regulatory questions they bring to outside counsel.
Wegner's academic background in computer science and business, combined with his law and tax degrees, gives him a practical perspective on technical and financial problems. He has handled transactional work, tax analysis and elements of bankruptcy and corporate restructuring in client matters. He approaches problems by identifying the legal issues first, then mapping them onto practical outcomes for clients rather than getting lost in abstract theory.
He founded and now heads Wegner Law PLLC. The small-firm setting lets him manage cases directly and maintain closer client relationships. He draws on courtroom experience, firm training and graduate tax education to advise individuals and businesses. He continues to practice in Florida.
He now leads Wegner Law PLLC, handling tax and business law matters.
