About Christopher

Christopher Waggener earned his J.D. from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2014 after completing a B.S. in History and Business Management at Appalachian State University in 2007. He left law school equipped for courtroom work and client advocacy. Those credentials set the path for a career that has moved between public service, private litigation, and running a small firm.

He began his legal career in public defense. In 2014 he joined the 18th Circuit Public Defender's Office as an assistant public defender. There he handled the steady flow of criminal dockets that define public defense work. The job required quick thinking at arraignments, sustained preparation for hearings, and facing juries on the occasional trial. It was a formative period that sharpened his trial skills.

In 2017 he shifted to private practice as a litigation associate at Williams, Leininger & Cosby. The move broadened the range of matters he encountered. He worked on contested civil suits, managed discovery, drafted motions, and negotiated resolutions. The firm experience added civil litigation tools to the criminal trial experience he had already developed.

Two years later he launched his own firm. In 2019 he opened Waggener Law, PLLC and assumed the responsibilities of practice owner. Running a small firm meant handling both the substantive law and the business side of practice. He supervised client intake, case strategy, and courtroom appearances while overseeing day-to-day operations of the office.

Across these roles his work has involved courtroom advocacy, motion practice, and client counseling. He has moved between the pressure of the public defender calendar and the slower grind of civil litigation. The variety has produced a practical approach to case preparation and courtroom presentation. Colleagues describe him as straightforward in court and careful with case details.

He is licensed to practice in Florida and continues to maintain a practice there. His current work combines litigation and trial representation for clients in state courts. Today he operates Waggener Law, PLLC and focuses on litigation and trial work in Florida.
