About Christopher M.

Christopher M. Lankford began his path to law after a liberal arts undergraduate education that combined philosophy, communication studies and Latin. He earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2008. He went on to law school at Baylor, where he completed his J.D. in 2013 and took coursework in criminal law during his studies.

His earliest legal experience traces back to 2002, when he worked as a legal clerk for the United States Marine Corps. That early work offered him exposure to military legal processes and administrative procedure. He later moved into civilian practice following law school, entering private practice in 2013 at the Law Offices of Lankford & Knapp.

By 2014 he had established the Lankford Law Office. Over the years the firm has handled criminal defense matters and related court work. Lankford’s background in criminal law from Baylor and his time in a clerkship role informed the practical side of his practice. He has experience running a small office and representing clients in trials and hearings.

Lankford holds a Certified Ad Litem credential from the State Bar of Texas. That certification permits him to accept certain court appointments involving representation of children and other appointed guardianship matters. He is also a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, where his membership dates to 2014 and continues into the present. In Tarrant County he belongs to both the Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Tarrant County Bar Association, memberships he began in 2013 and retains.

Colleagues describe Lankford as steady and practical in court, preferring preparation and direct argument to theatrical gestures. He blends courtroom work with case preparation behind the scenes. He has built a practice that emphasizes hands-on representation and attention to procedural detail.

Outside of casework he maintains links to local bar groups and criminal defense networks. He uses those connections to stay current on developments in Texas criminal law and local court procedure. His experience spans client counseling, courtroom appearances and the administrative duties required of small-firm practice.

Lankford works from the Lankford Law Office in Texas, where he represents clients in criminal cases and accepts ad litem appointments as a State Bar of Texas certified ad litem.
