About Christian

Christian Plaza trained first as a political scientist and finished law school in the early 1990s. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University in 1990 and took his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1993. Those formative years set the stage for a practice that crosses several state lines.

He spent a substantial portion of his career in private practice and advanced to partnership at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. During his time there he handled matters that required coordination across multiple jurisdictions. The firm role placed him in the middle of complex transactional and regulatory work, where record-keeping, client communication, and careful drafting mattered as much as legal analysis.

Plaza holds admission to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, and Virginia. That multi-jurisdictional standing has allowed him to take on engagements that reach beyond a single state. It also meant adapting to different court rules, agency procedures, and client needs. He has worked on matters that required quick assessment of where a particular legal issue should be litigated or negotiated.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He favors clear memoranda and practical solutions. He has experience managing multidisciplinary teams on deals and regulatory responses. That experience translated into a practice style that balances rigorous legal work with the operational demands of clients, whether they were corporate counsel, small businesses, or individuals seeking counsel on cross-border issues within the states where he is licensed.

Outside the office, Plaza has remained engaged with professional circles in the legal communities tied to his admissions. He has attended and participated in panels and local bar activities that address regulatory change and professional responsibility. Those activities have helped him keep current on procedural developments and shifts in enforcement priorities across the jurisdictions where he practices.

He maintains an office in Reston and concentrates his practice on matters arising within the states and district where he is admitted to practice.
