About Christian L.

Christian L. Augustin trained in classrooms long before he trained in courtrooms. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1999 and followed that with a Master of Education in 2003. A decade later he completed a Juris Doctor at UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, graduating in 2015. The sequence underscores a shift from education and public affairs into the practice of law.

His early career was rooted in local institutions. In 2000 he worked as a political and diversity issues analyst for MGM MIRAGE’s government affairs office, a role that exposed him to public policy and corporate-government interaction. He then taught in the Clark County School District beginning in 2003. Those years in education and government affairs shaped his understanding of institutional systems and administrative processes.

He entered the legal profession after law school and joined the Nevada State Bar in 2015. Since then he has been active in a range of professional organizations. He belongs to the American Bar Association and the Nevada Justice Association, both since 2015. He joined The National LGBT Bar Association in 2016 and has been a member of the Clark County Bar Association since 2017. These memberships reflect ongoing participation in professional networks rather than any single public office or headline case.

Augustin is admitted to practice in Nevada and before the Federal Circuit. Those admissions allow him to represent clients in state courts and in certain federal appellate matters. His practice has been informed by earlier work in schools and in corporate government affairs. He often draws on that background when handling procedural and administrative aspects of litigation.

He is associated with Claggett & Sykes Law Office. At the firm he works on litigation and advocacy that require familiarity with both state rules and federal appellate procedures. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing filings and attentive to procedural detail. He combines courtroom work with research and written advocacy, reflecting his legal training at Boyd and his earlier academic experience.

Augustin’s professional path crosses education, public policy and law. That blend has shaped the subjects he accepts and the manner in which he prepares matters for trial and appeal. He practices at Claggett & Sykes Law Office, representing clients in matters before Nevada and federal courts.
